Objective
I would like to obtain positions on design teams for scrapbook store websites, kit clubs and scrapbooking manufacturers.

My Style
My style is definatly eclectic since I treat each layout individually it can range from Classic/Shabby to Fun/Trendy depending on the topic. In the last year I have been concentrating a lot on basic design & color principles. With these concepts in mind while creating; no matter what I'm doing it will help me make a visually pleasing layout. I like lots of layers & a lump page. Ribbon & buttons are my favorite embellishments. Heritage scrapbooking is quickly becoming a passion - I love working with old photos & telling those stories.

The starting point with my layouts is usually the story I want to tell. I may or may not even have photos to capture that memory. Photos are only part of a layout to me... the story is just as important so I usually have a lot of handwritten journaling on my layouts. I also let that story/photos guide me on colors & style of the layout. Every color can invoke a different emotion or bring out the best/worst in a particular photo so it's a careful choice of auditioning different colors at the beginning of the design.

I scrap all sizes of albums from 12x12 on down to 6x6. I also love to do theme mini books. They are great for gifts. I sell cards locally at small gift shops & by special order.

Techniques
I am an "experimenter". How do you know if you like something if you don't try it... right? I also enjoy playing around with techniques to improve them or make them my own. In this economy I'm trying to stretch my scrapbooking dollars; but, I still want the look of the newest products out there. I spend a lot of time trying to achieve that desired look with what I have on hand. My favorite money saver right now is the layered letters/shapes I cut with my Cricut. Perfect replacement for those Thickers we all love so much & the best thing about that is I can have them in any size, color, style I need for a particular layout.
